Bruno Sawatzki, one of the founders of SAWATEC AG, was born on 14 October 1970. The company founder completed his education by gaining a level 1 diploma, the equivalent of GCSE level.
He then went on to successfully complete a four-year apprenticeship as a technical draughtsman at the former Presta AG company in Eschen (now ThyssenKrupp Automotive). After finishing his apprenticeship Sawatzki joined Hoval AG, the well known Liechtenstein firm (a leading, innovative company operating internationally in the field of heating and environmental technology). Here he worked in the ‘combustion systems - construction’ department.
Alongside work, the young Sawatzki also completed a higher course in mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Vaduz. To broaden his professional horizons and to acquire new experience he then joined Liconic AG, another Liechtenstein based company. In the construction department he worked on developing special machines for the semiconductor industry. The contact with the semiconductor industry turned out to be a milestone in Sawatzki’s life, and henceforth this fascinating field of business would never leave his thoughts.
But the time for him to strike out on his own path had not yet come. So he once again followed the call of Hoval AG and worked for two years in the construction department.
Eventually, in 1995, Sawatzki took the plunge and became self-employed. He opened his own construction office and focused its attention on mechanical engineering. At the same time he began to hold intensive discussions with his father Harry about their setting up a jointly owned company.
A year later the talks were finalised and the establishment of a new company with his father Harry had become a fact. On 18 December 1996 both father and son founded today’s SAWATEC AG. Bruno Sawatzki assumed responsibility for the fields of sales and marketing, and obviously helped out in the areas of development and assembly activities – this was a recently established family-run company, after all.
In 2004 Bruno Sawatzki took over operative responsibility for SAWATEC AG from his father and became managing director of SAWATEC AG. In this position he still guides the fate of the company today.
